DJI O4 Wide Air Unit (Lite) on a 2-Inch FPV Frame

Yes, a 2-inch FPV frame can be designed around DJI O4 Wide Air Unit (Lite). The hard part is not simply making the camera physically fit. A small frame has very little room for the camera, video hardware, battery, receiver, wiring and prop clearance, so the entire layout has to be designed around mass, protection and airflow.

What matters on a 2-inch DJI O4 Wide Air Unit build

  • Camera fit and protection: the camera needs a secure mount without becoming the first thing that hits the wall.
  • Center of gravity: moving video hardware a few millimeters matters far more on a micro build than on a 5-inch quad.
  • Prop clearance: a frame designed for 2.2-inch props needs real clearance at full blade diameter, not just enough room for a 2-inch prop.
  • Wiring space: compact does not mean crushed. Power, video and receiver wiring still need clean routes.
  • Cooling: digital video hardware needs airflow instead of being buried inside a solid TPU box.

How Impetus 2 handles it

The Funkolius Impetus 2 is a T700 carbon 2-inch-class frame designed to accept up to 2.2-inch props. Its camera arrangement supports DJI O4 Wide Air Unit (Lite) as well as Walksnail, HDZero and analog configurations, depending on the camera and mount used.

Why prop size changes the design

On a micro quad, moving from 2.0 to 2.2 inches is a meaningful change in swept area. You cannot assume a frame intended for 2-inch props has safe clearance for 2.2-inch blades. Motor spacing and arm geometry have to be built around it. The Impetus 2 was designed with that clearance from the start.

Build around the whole system

The clean way to build a digital micro is to choose the frame, video system, motor pattern, battery voltage and prop diameter as one system. Trying to bolt O4 Lite onto a frame that was never laid out for the hardware usually creates compromises in protection, balance or serviceability.
